Le château de Rambures

Rambures castle, listed as a historic monument since 1840, is a remarkable example of 15th-century military architecture. A powerful fortress with huge round towers linked by curtain walls with machicolations and parapets, the castle was designed to withstand the artillery of the time.

On your own, you can explore the corridors of time and the interior of the fortress, which was transformed into a pleasure residence in the 18th century. The king's bedroom was home to Henri IV on several occasions. For the past 2 years, many more rooms have been opened to offer an even more fantastic visitor experience.

The park has been awarded the 'Remarkable Garden' label, as has the rose garden. Set in 3200m² of enclosed grounds, the medieval-inspired rose garden, created in 2003 by the Comtesse de Blanchard, gets more beautiful every year.  Established on the site of the large 17th-century kitchen garden, it takes up part of its layout, creating a labyrinth of scents and colours.

Today, more than 500 varieties of old and modern roses delight visitors of all ages.
