The Baie de Somme is an immense natural site that is home to a rich and varied variety of flora and fauna. One of the highlights of this bay is the opportunity to observe seals in their natural habitat, as the tides move between land and sea.
Located just outside Cayeux sur Mer, the Pointe du Hourdel is a small fishing village 10km from St Valéry-sur-Somme. It's one of the most famous places to see these animals, especially when they come out to bask in the sun on the sandbanks at low tide.
What time of year can you see them?
All year round!
In late spring, however, you can witness the moving spectacle of young seals just born.
